classcowardFIRST THINGS FIRST somebody in the voting post asked a very good question while I was asleep that I unfortunately did not get to answer before voting closed.
I'm playing from TV canon only \o/. Sorry if you're a fan of the novels, but as far as I'm aware, the TV series and the novels have quite a few differences in terms of characterisation and timeline/plot. The TV series is what I apped from, and what I'm familiar with, so that's what I'll be playing from. I haven't read the novels aside from a few sypnosis pages on Wiki, and I don't really wish to draw from them either, since I feel like ... Chuck in the books and Chuck in the show are really more like two different people. Sorry!
Secondly, in terms of characterisation, for those who are familiar with the show: I'm taking Chuck from the end of season 2, HOWEVER! While it's true that Chuck has changed a LOT from the person he once was, a lot of this is due to Blair and Nate's presence in his life at varying stages. They ground him! And MOST of his scenes in the latter half of Season 2 revolve around his plot with Blair, so we don't really get to see him doing much else other than... things that relate to her! And yes, he apologised to Jenny as well for the events of the season 1 pilot. But even though he's not as bad as he was, I want to emphasize that ... he is still a horrible, sleazy, condescending person! I think it's easy to romanticize Chuck through watching his interactions with Blair, but the point is that Blair brings out the best in him, not that he's like that all the time. And especially since Blair and Nate are NOT in camp (app them app them), he willlll... not be on his best behaviour all the time, so to speak, haha.
THAT SAID: If a thread with Chuck ever, EVER leaves you feeling uncomfortable (and I will do my best to not overstep that line), please tell me. This also counts as to visit any form of comedic violence upon Chuck that you can think of, should you deem it necessary 8). HE GETS PUNCHED OFTEN ENOUGH IN THE SHOW, and hell, he probably deserves it, so don't worry about asking! I'm all for comedic violence and the hilarious suffering of my characters |D.
